Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has encountered numerous sexual assault lawsuits and a federal investigation into human trafficking over the past year, has been arrested, according to a statement from the producer's attorney to CNN.

Combs, who has been in New York City since the previous week, was arrested on Monday at the Park Hyatt Hotel located on 57th Street in Manhattan. He was taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations around 8:15 p.m., according to a source familiar with the situation who spoke to CNN.

The arrest stemmed from an indictment that is anticipated to be unsealed on Tuesday morning, as stated by Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

At this moment, the specific charges and details surrounding the case against Combs remain unclear.

Discussions regarding Combs' surrender had been in progress, and the sealed indictment was voted on Monday, as per the source.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” remarked Marc Agnifilo, one of Combs' attorneys, in a statement to CNN.

Combs' attorney stated that the musician has been fully cooperating with the investigation resulting in the indictment and "voluntarily moved to New York last week in anticipation of these charges." His legal team asserts his innocence, emphasizing that he has "nothing to hide."

Sean 'Diddy' Combs, a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, devoted family man, and committed philanthropist, has spent the past 30 years building an empire, supporting his children, and working to uplift the Black community. "He is an imperfect individual but is not a criminal," Combs' attorney, Agnifilo, told CNN, urging the public to "reserve judgment until all the facts are known. These are the actions of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court."

Earlier this year, Combs became the subject of an extensive sex trafficking investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, leading to high-profile searches of his Los Angeles and Miami homes in March.

Following the raids, a law enforcement source informed CNN that the investigation was tied to multiple sexual assault allegations outlined in several civil lawsuits against Combs. The scope of the investigation is reportedly broader, involving potential issues of sex trafficking, money laundering, and illegal drugs.

Since November, Combs has been hit with ten lawsuits, nine of which directly accuse him of sexual assault. CNN previously reported that several accusers have already met with federal investigators as part of this wide-reaching probe.
